Process evaluation of the RET subject implementation to assess quality of teaching and learning

The overall goal of the Renewable Energy Technologies (RET) subject implementation is to increase students’ employability for a green economy labour market. The core problem is the non-existence of a visible career path into the Green Economy. The S4GJ programme intends to support the alleviation of this problem by offering this new subject.

The findings from the process evaluation will inform S4GJ programme staff and stakeholders about

  • the quality of implementation and possible areas of improvement for the colleges already in implementation
  • the colleges’ planning to offer the new subject in 2016.
  • It is also expected to increase institutional learning for TVET colleges as well as within the DHET about successful implementation of new subjects in the NC(V) programme.

The total amount of questionnaires filled in and received back amounts to N= 143 out of a total number of 303 students. The overall response rate was 47%.
